Technical Vocational College in China Seeks Agricultural Collaboration with CLSU
Changde Vocational and Technical College (CVTC), a leading vocational college in China’s Hunan province, explored potential agricultural partnerships with Central Luzon State University (CLSU) during a visit on January 18, 2024.
CLSU President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella welcomed the proposal, highlighting agriculture as the university’s cornerstone program. He envisions the collaboration strengthening CLSU’s student mobility initiatives, particularly through faculty and student exchange programs.
The CVTC delegation was led by Ms. Tan Cheng, a committee member and president of the International Education College. Other delegates included Mr. Chen Gang, Director of Academic Affairs, Mr. Gu Zhenhua, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Economics, Ms. Xiong Yirong, Deputy President of the International Education College, and Dr. Yang Jing, Instructor in the Department of Agriculture and Economics.
This potential collaboration signals a growing trend of agricultural knowledge exchange between China and the Philippines. With agriculture playing a crucial role in food security and sustainable development for both nations, such partnerships hold immense promise for enhancing agricultural practices and fostering greater understanding between the two countries.
