Dubbed as the “Dream SEAkers: The Southeast Asian Teacher Experience,” the SEA teacher participants organized the program as part of their return service to the University. The program is in collaboration with the CED Student Council and the International Affairs Office.
Rio M. Reyes, Kenneth M. Mananghaya, and Samuel Felip D. Fastidio, all Bachelor of Secondary Education students, shared their one-month study abroad experiences at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Khon Kaen University in Thailand, and University of Tsukuba in Japan respectively. These universities are among the top universities for teacher education in their respective countries.
Other program alums namely: Joseph Lenard L. Dubas, Rea May B. Arandia, Lexter G. Atentar, Glaydel May DC. Neri, Jeminna Feliz S. Quinit, Adam T. Bactol, and Mc Harold P. Tabelisma also attended the event and provided assistance in responding to the questions of the attendees.
Dr. Regidor G. Gaboy, dean of the College of Education, and Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, head of the international mobility unit of the International Affairs Office, both encouraged the students to avail of this student mobility opportunity exclusive to teacher education program to enhance their intercultural understanding as well as familiarize themselves with the educational system of Asean countries and Japan.
The student participation to the SEA Teacher Project is partly financed by the Student Development Initiative Program of the University while their host universities sponsored their on-campus housing for one month.
This is the sixth time that the University sent outbound students to the SEA Teacher Project since February 2018 and received inbound students from the partner universities.
The SEA Teacher Project is a flagship program of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
