6th Year Vetmed Student Successfully Conveys Research Study in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Fatima Gen N. De Guia a 6th year student, from the Department of Veterinary Paraclinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Science and Medicine, presented her research paper entitled “In Vitro Antibacterial Activity of Onion (Allium ascalonicum)- Based Probiotics against Streptococcus agalactiae Isolated from Nile Tilapia” in Empress Convention Center, Chiang Mai University Veterinary Conference 2025 (CMUVC 2025) Chiang Mai, Thailand on December 8-12, 2025.
The activity focused on academic engagement and knowledge exchange. These includes the oral presentation of a research study on the antibacterial activity of onion-based probiotics against Streptococcus agalactiae in Nile Tilapia, participation in academic exchanges with international veterinary professionals and students, and attendance at plenary sessions, workshops, and poster presentations focused on animal health and innovations in veterinary medicine.
This initiative forms part of the ongoing collaboration between Central Luzon State University and Chiang Mai University, which promotes international partnerships in Veterinary Medicine and related fields.
