CHEDRO III commends CLSU’s climb in the WURI 2025 Global Rankings

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) was recognized by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) during Luminescence 26: Glowing with Excellence in Innovation held on July 17, 2025, at Nuan’s Farm Resort in Bacolor, Pampanga.

The event honored 26 higher education institutions (HEIs) in Central Luzon that earned a spot in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). Representing the university was Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Director of the International Affairs Office, who received the award on behalf of University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella. Also present was Dr. Eduard C. Taganap, Chief of the Visibility and Reputation Unit of the IAO.

CLSU climbed to 118th place globally out of 400 universities in the WURI 2025 rankings, marking a 17-spot increase from its previous rank. The university also ranked in three global categories: 5th in Funding for Sustainability for the project “FARM-ER POWER: Sowing Innovation, Harvesting Sustainability”; 5th in Cost-Benefit Management for the initiative “Rice Up: Growing Grains, Greater Gains”; and 23rd in SDG-Based Responses to Global Challenges for the program “Goats for Global Goal.”

Dr. Lora L. Yusi, CHEDRO III Director, personally and sincerely thanked CLSU in her speech for selflessly mentoring Region 3’s State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and Private Universities in the WURI and Times Higher Education Impact Ranking processes.
