The Central Luzon State University was among the invited institutions at the 13th SEAMEO-University of Tsukuba Symposium in Tokyo, Japan.
Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, Chief of the Mobility and Intercultural Exchange Unit at the International Affairs Office, and Dr. Aileen G. De Guzman, in charge of the CLTL – University Science High School, participated in a panel discussion on the implementation of the SEA Teacher Pilot Program.
The two faculty members joined representatives from Khon Kaen University, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and the University of Tsukuba and their participation was made possible through the invitation of the Center for Research on International Cooperation in Educational Development (CRICED) and sponsorship of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT).
Additionally, two outbound students, Bea Bianca A. Bolante and Lara Jhanea A. Perez, who are currently SEA Teacher participants at Sakado High School, a senior high school affiliated with the University of Tsukuba, took part in a special session. They shared their experiences and challenges as SEA Teacher participants.
Beyond the symposium, Dr. Ubaldo and Dr. De Guzman attended pre-symposium workshops on LLM-based Lesson Study 2.0, integrating AI and data science, and robot programming using ArTec Robo, both aimed at enhancing computational thinking skills among young learners.
As an international relations officer, Dr. Ubaldo also had the opportunity to network with SEAMEO directors present at the symposium.
