CLSU welcomes two Indonesian undergrad students under AIMS program
Central Luzon State University (CLSU) is currently hosting two exchange students from IPB University in Bogor, Indonesia, for a one-semester academic exchange under the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) program.
The students, Hasby Nurunijan Jamil (major in Agronomy and Horticulture) and Mohammad Farkhan Tsani (major in Land Resource Management), arrived on July 19, 2025.
The two exchange students were warmly welcomed by Dr. Alona T. Badua, Dean of the College of Agriculture, during a courtesy call at her office before beginning their classes.
IPB University, one of Indonesia’s top institutions for agricultural sciences, is a key partner of CLSU in the AIMS program. To date, eight CLSU students have participated in semester-long exchanges at IPB.
At CLSU, the AIMS program is coordinated by Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, the AIMS Focal Person and Chief of the International Mobility and Intercultural Exchange Unit under the International Affairs Office (IAO).
In the Philippines, only six universities under the AIMS Philippine Network are authorized to accept AIMS students in agriculture. These institutions were selected based on their strong academic programs in the discipline and their capacity to accommodate international students.
The AIMS Program, a flagship initiative under the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED), promotes student mobility and strengthens collaboration among higher education institutions across Asia.
Fully funded by the sending government, AIMS supports undergraduate students from ASEAN member countries, South Korea, and Japan, fostering cross-cultural understanding and academic excellence. The program covers tuition, travel, and living expenses, ensuring accessibility for all participants.
