CLSU’s Global Efforts in THE Impact Rankings Earn CHED Recognition

September 8, 2025

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) reaffirmed its commitment to global excellence and sustainability as it was recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for its outstanding performance and inclusion in the overall ranking of the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, with the recognition conferred during “Ranked and Recognized: A Celebration of PHEIs” held on June 24, 2025, at the CHED Auditorium in Diliman, Quezon City.

CLSU was among more than 100 top-performing Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) recognized for their placement in the 2025 THE Impact Rankings—an international initiative that assesses and ranks 2,526 universities from 130 countries and territories based on their progress toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The university’s global visibility and institutional efforts have contributed to the Philippines’ growing presence in Southeast Asia. This is reflected in an unprecedented increase in the number of Philippine HEIs participating in the THE Impact Rankings since 2019, as highlighted by CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis.

Representing the university during the awarding ceremony were University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Director of the International Affairs Office (IAO), and Assoc. Prof. Maria Adrielle S. Estigoy, Director of the Presidential Management Services.
The university’s International Affairs Office remains committed to supporting these global achievements—championing CLSU’s internationalization agenda through strategic partnerships, academic exchanges, and alignment with global standards that reinforce the university’s role in advancing the SDGs.
