Ecuadorian University Delegation Visits Campus, Signs Cooperation Agreement
The Central Luzon State University welcomed a delegation from the Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo (UTB) in Ecuador for a partnership visit last July 25, 2025.
Led by Dr. Daysi Beatriz Soto Calderon, Vice Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies, and Dr. Walter Reyes Borja, Professor and Director of UTB’s Biotechnology Laboratory, the visit from the Ecuadorian university marked a significant step toward starting CLSU’s presence in the Latin American continent.
The visiting delegation was hosted by the International Affairs Office through Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, Chief of the Mobility and Intercultural Exchange Unit, and Mr. Ariel Joseph J. Barza, Chief of the Events and Services Unit.
The discussions centered on a range of collaborative opportunities, including joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programs, and pathways for UTB faculty to pursue graduate studies at CLSU. These efforts aim to strengthen academic ties and promote cross-cultural innovation between the two universities.
The visit also involved the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two universities to formalize the commitment to mutual growth and collaboration.
Despite coinciding with CLSU’s commencement exercises and a work suspension due to inclement weather, the visit underscored both institutions’ dedication to advancing global academic cooperation.
