
IAO, CHSI delegation visits Kasetsart Univ. Faculty of Fisheries

Representatives from the International Affairs Office (IAO) and the College of Home Science and Industry (CHSI) at CLSU paid a courtesy visit to Kasetsart University’s Faculty of Fisheries on March 6.
The purpose was to explore avenues for enhancing the bilateral student exchange program, particularly focusing on undergraduate fisheries programs, and to involve CLSU’s Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management in enriching the cultural experiences of students.
The CLSU delegation included Prof. Dr. Celyrah B. Castillo (Dean, CHSI), Assoc. Prof. Celeste D. Dela Cruz (Chair, Dept. of Hospitality and Tourism Management), Ms. Ma. Rheena Carla Francia (Instructor, Dept. of Textile and Garment Technology), and Prof. Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo (Chief, Mobility and Intercultural Exchange Unit at the IAO and university coordinator for the AIMS Program).
Prof. Suriyan Tunkijjanukij, Dean of KU’s Faculty of Fisheries, expressed gratitude to CLSU for the student exchange program, highlighting it as the only undergraduate exchange program between Kasetsart University and a Philippine university.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Wanwimol Klaypradit, Associate Dean for International Affairs, shared feedback from the first batch of 10 Kasetsart students who spent 45 days at CLSU last year, noting their positive experiences and improved English communication skills. Asst. Prof. Yaowapha Waiprib, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, also participated in the meeting.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukkrit Nimitkul from KU’s Department of Aquaculture, and KU’s coordinator for the student exchange program with CLSU, led the delegation on a tour and introduced the second batch of KU students scheduled to visit CLSU.
The bilateral cooperation between CLSU’s College of Fisheries and KU’s Faculty of Fisheries began during the deanship of Prof. Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco and has since benefited 15 undergraduate students.
