Maejo University Student Completes Three-Month Fisheries Internship at CLSU
Warisara Aikamnoed from Maejo University, Thailand, successfully concluded her three-month international internship at Central Luzon State University (CLSU) on March 6, 2026. Hosted by the College of Fisheries (CF) and the Freshwater Aquaculture Center (FAC), which the program underscores a shared commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water.
Ms. Aikamnoed’s journey at CLSU began with her participation in the International Summer Short-term Program 2025.
Throughout her stay, Ms. Aikamnoed was fully immersed in the academic community, participating in specialized class lectures alongside BS Fisheries students to foster a collaborative exchange of regional insights. Her training was strategically centered on advanced laboratory techniques, sustainable hands-on field activities, and high-level lecture series—all curated to address the global imperatives of food security and aquatic conservation.
She described her experience in CLSU saying that “I enjoyed meeting the people here; they were kind and friendly. I learned many new things, including the culture, festivals, and what I learned from the fisheries program.” She also added “I enjoyed the festivals and had fun with new friends. I got to know many other people. Thank you for everything, and goodbye. I hope we'll be able to meet again someday.”
Moreover, the culminating activity was graced by Dr. Hazel Monica M. Peralta, Department Chair of Aquaculture, Dr. Alvin T. Reyes, Department Chair of Aquatic Post-harvest, and Dr. Karl Marx A. Quiazon, FAC Director by delivering their individual messages alongside with the faculty and staff of CF-FAC celebrating a partnership that continues to elevate CLSU's status as a premier hub for international fisheries education.
