VPAA Velasco leads int’l rankings discussion at CHEDRO III Executive Session; IAO Dir. Hail reinforces global linkages through strategic discussions

Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Director of the International Affairs Office of Central Luzon State University (CLSU), participated in the Executive Session organized by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) on October 30, 2025, in Angeles City, Pampanga. The session focused on international rankings readiness, strengthening global academic partnerships, and ensuring compliance with CHED Memorandum Order No. 3, series of 2025, which covers authority to travel abroad.

Dr. Velasco served as a resource speaker, presenting strategic approaches to bolster university performance in international ranking systems. She emphasized the significance of robust data management, continuous accreditation efforts, and enhanced global visibility. Meanwhile, Dr. Hail represented CLSU in discussions on CMO 3, series of 2025, on expanding transnational higher education initiatives and reinforcing international linkages across the region.

CHEDRO III Regional Director Dr. Lora Yusi expressed gratitude to CLSU for its ongoing mentorship to State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Central Luzon, which has contributed to the increasing number of institutions gaining recognition in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, WURI, and QS Stars Rating.
