CLSU hosts an In-Pond Raceway Systems Seminar

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) hosts Mr. Zhou Enhua, In-Pond Raceway Systems (IPRS) Lead; Mr. Philip Sharples Kemp Jr., IPRS Consultant; Mr. Hsiang Pin Lan, Marine Specialist; Dr. Ernesto J. Morales, Philippines Aquaculture Technical Manager; and Dr. Bui Ngoc Thanh, Vietnam Aquaculture Technical Manager of the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC), for a lecture on the principles, latest updates, and global adoption of Aquaculture Innovation: In-Pond Raceway Systems (IPRS) as part of the Global Expert Lecture Series.

The event gathered faculty, undergraduate and graduate students from the CLSU College of Fisheries, along with representatives from the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR), Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources–National Freshwater Fisheries Technology Center (BFAR-NFFTC), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Santeh Feeds Corporation, and The Kaizen Company.

Among the attendees were Dr. Tereso A. Abella, former CLSU president and Professor Emeritus at the College of Fisheries; Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, Vice President for Research and Extension; and Dr. Hazel Monica M. Peralta, Acting Dean of the College of Fisheries.

The activity was organized by the Freshwater Aquaculture Center (FAC) of the College of Fisheries, in partnership with the International Affairs Office (IAO), the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and USSEC. The event reaffirmed CLSU’s commitment to global academic partnerships and sustainable aquaculture innovation.
