The King Sejong Institute Muñoz held its first Hangeul Day

The King Sejong Institute, Muñoz (KSI) held its first Hangeul Day celebration on October 29, 2025, at the CLSU Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs Grounds, Central Luzon State University (CLSU).

The activity was conducted in commemoration of the 579th Hangeul Day in honor of King Sejong the Great of South Korea, who created Hangeul, the Korean alphabet.

Present during the event were university officials, deans, directors, faculty, and staff of various colleges and offices, and the City Administrator of the Science City of Muñoz.

In her message, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director of the KSI-Muñoz, emphasized the significance of cultural understanding through language education and recognized the withstanding collaboration between South Korean institutions and CLSU in promoting international academic and cultural exchange.

Ms. Kim Suhyeon, lecturer of KSI–Muñoz, extended her appreciation on behalf of KSI for the university’s continued support of Korean language and culture programs.

Dr. Parsons N.Hail, Director of the International Affairs Office (IAO), Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, Chief of the Mobility and Intercultural Exchange Unit, and the CLSU Global Student Ambassadors were also in attendance, along with CLSU faculty members and student alumni who previously participated in academic mobility and exchange programs in South Korea.

The CLSU Ambulant Vendors (AVs) participated by offering Filipino food and beverages during the event.

The celebration served as an avenue to recognize the significance of Hangeul and to further strengthen the academic and cultural partnership between CLSU and KSI.
