IAO Personnel Join CHED IAS’s Hybrid Meeting for AIMS Program Policy Review

June 22, 2026

The International Affairs Office (IAO) participated in a hybrid meeting organized by the CHED International Affairs Service on June 17, 2026 which focused on the policy review of the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Program.

Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, Chief of the Mobility and Intercultural Exchange Division of the IAO, and Mr. Ariel Joseph J. Barza represented CLSU at the meeting. Both personnel serve as the university’s focal persons for the AIMS program.

The meeting brought together 17 AIMS-member higher education institutions (HEIs) at the CHED Auditorium in Quezon City and via Zoom to review and update existing policy guidelines—specifically CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 11, series of 2014, and CMO No. 19, series of 2015.

Beyond refining current guidelines, the meeting served as a vital preparatory milestone for the upcoming AIMS Annual Review Meeting, which is slated to take place this October 2026 in Iloilo City.

The AIMS Program is a flagship regional initiative spearheaded by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED) aimed at fostering student mobility and academic collaboration across Southeast Asia and beyond.

Under this program, SEAMEO member governments nominate specific higher education institutions (HEIs) to participate, officially represent their country, and provide the participating students with the necessary financial support.
