As part of the Philippine Overseas Volunteer Program at Central Luzon State University (CLSU), volunteers from Sunchon National University (SCNU), South Korea, took part in a series of cultural and institutional activities that strengthened their engagement with the CLSU community.

In celebration of ASEAN Month and the growing CLSU–SCNU friendship, the SCNU volunteers participated in a mural-painting activity in collaboration with the CLSU Cultural Affairs Office – Pigura Visual Arts Group. The activity brought Filipino and Korean participants together through visual art, creating a symbolic expression of friendship, cultural exchange, and international cooperation. The CLSU Pigura team was led by Engr. Laila Marie A. Lavandero.

The volunteers also underwent office immersion activities across selected academic and administrative units of the University, providing them with opportunities to learn about CLSU’s programs, operations, and areas of expertise while interacting with faculty members and personnel.

At the CLSU Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Park Hyunwoo, Kim Seojin, Kim Suyeon, and Jeong Jiyoon were welcomed by Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

At the CLSU-College of Agriculture, Kim Geonhu, Lee Jaeeun, Ahn Nakyeong, and Im Huiseon participated in the immersion under the guidance of Acting Dean, Dr. Jayson Juan.

Meanwhile, Lee Jungwoo, Lee Chaeeun, Kim Jeongyoon, and Choi Chanung visited the CLSU-College of Fisheries, where they were welcomed by Acting Dean, Dr. Rea Mae C. Templonuevo and Mr. Junard C. Catabay.

At the International Affairs Office (IAO), Jeon Hyogeon, Oh Junmin, and Lee Hanna joined the office immersion with Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, Chief of Mobility and Intercultural Exchange Division and the IAO team, gaining a closer look at the University’s internationalization initiatives and services.

The SCNU delegation likewise visited the King Sejong Institute – Muñoz, where they interacted with Teacher-Lecturer Ms. Suhyeon Kim and learned more about the Institute’s efforts to promote Korean language and culture within the CLSU community.

The activities formed part of SCNU’s visit to CLSU, highlighting not only volunteerism but also meaningful opportunities for cultural exchange, institutional learning, and people-to-people connections between the two universities.
