CLSU IAO Celebrates ASEAN Month with Various Cultural Booths
Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its International Affairs Office (IAO), in collaboration with the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (BAIS) and Bachelor of Science in Development Communication (BSDC) programs of the CLSU – College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), together with student exchange alumnus of various international mobility programs, opened a series of cultural booths in celebration of ASEAN Month at the CASS Pavilion from August 17 to 26, 2026.
First-, second-, and third-year BAIS and BSDevCom students, under the guidance of Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Director of the International Affairs Office; Dr. Ella Avellanoza, Chief of Engagement and Collaboration Division; and Dr. Ken G. Calang, Department Head of Department of Global Studies, and Ms. Cherie Amor Urpiano of Department of Communication and Development Studies prepared and set up booths highlighting the food, tourist destinations, traditions, heritage, and diverse cultures of ASEAN member states. The students also organized interactive activities, games, displays, and cultural presentations designed to engage visitors while promoting greater awareness and understanding of the identities and shared heritage of the ASEAN community.
The booths served as an avenue for students and visitors to learn more about Southeast Asia beyond the classroom, providing opportunities for cultural exchange and meaningful interaction while strengthening appreciation for the diversity, interconnectedness, and regional identity shared among ASEAN nations.
The IAO extends its sincere appreciation to BSDevCom 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, and 3-4; BAIS 2-1 and 2-2; and BAIS 1-1 and 1-2 for their creativity, dedication, and collaborative efforts in supporting the initiative. The Office likewise expresses its gratitude to the College of Arts and Social Sciences for its continued support in advancing initiatives that promote ASEAN awareness, cultural appreciation, and regional understanding within the CLSU community.
