CLSU leads int’l confab on food security and climate resilience in Thailand

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) spearheaded the International Conference on Micro-Credentials and Research for Food Security and Climate Change, held from February 10 to 12, 2025, in Chonburi, Thailand.

The conference was part of the Erasmus+ funded project on Developing Postgraduate Micro-Credentials for Food Security and Climate Change (PMC FSCC), which includes CLSU, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Brawijaya, Kasetsart University, the University of the Philippines Los Baños, and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA).

Professor Ravelina R. Velasco, CLSU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and an Executive Officer of the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (University Consortium), led the CLSU delegation at the Opening and Inauguration Ceremony of the Consortium Agreement on the Joint Offering of Micro-Credentials for Food Security and Climate Change. Dr. Velasco also served as the Session Chair for Session 1.

The conference was organized into thematic sessions: Curriculum Design, Regulation and Quality Assurance, Learning Instruments and Technologies, Carbon Credits, and Trends in Food Security and Climate Change.

2 CLSU faculty and 1 graduate student also participated, presenting their research on Innovation Meets Education: Building Pathways for Food Security and Climate Change (Exclusive for SEARCA Scholars and Alumni) and Current Studies and Research on Food Security and Climate Change.
