The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) Bithay Sining Dance Company proudly represents the Philippines at the Jakarta World Folklore Festival 2026, an international celebration of cultural heritage held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Organized by the Jakarta Provincial Government in partnership with the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF), the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, the festival brings together cultural performers and heritage practitioners from across the globe to celebrate the diversity of traditional arts and strengthen intercultural understanding.

This year’s edition gathers folklore ensembles, musicians, dancers, and cultural ambassadors from more than 30 countries for a week-long programme featuring folk dance and music performances, traditional costume showcases, cultural exhibitions, heritage presentations, workshops, conferences, school visits, community performances, and other cultural exchange activities.

Representing the Philippines, the CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company joins fellow international delegates in promoting cultural dialogue through the performing arts while sharing the richness of the country’s traditions with global audiences.

The Philippine delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Adonis Voltaire M. Villanueva also participates in a series of cultural immersion activities designed to foster collaboration, mutual learning, and appreciation of the world’s diverse cultural heritage among participating countries and local communities.

Through its participation in the festival, the CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company serves as a cultural ambassador of both the University and the Philippines, showcasing the artistry, creativity, and enduring traditions of Filipino culture on the international stage while contributing to global cultural exchange and understanding.
