August 19, 2024
Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, Chief of the Mobility and Intercultural Exchange Unit of the International Affairs Office, represented Central Luzon State University (CLSU) at the 18th Annual Review Meeting of the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Program in Hiroshima, Japan last August 8-9, 2024.

As the university coordinator for the AIMS program, Dr. Ubaldo joined representatives from AIMS-member institutions across Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea, as well as officials from higher education ministries, to discuss ways to enhance program implementation.

Notably, he was one of 11 international relations officers (IROs) selected to facilitate parallel sessions. Together with the IRO from BINUS University in Indonesia, they led discussions on strategies to further promote the AIMS program to students and strengthen the relationship between alumni and the International Relations Office (IRO).

During the meeting, Dr. Ubaldo also conducted several side meetings to establish new connections with prospective AIMS partners for CLSU students. A total of 164 participants, including government representatives, international relations officers, and professors, attended this year’s annual review meeting.

This year, CLSU is sending five students to IPB University in Indonesia under the AIMS Program, with full support from the Commission on Higher Education.

CLSU is one of the pioneering 12 AIMS-member institutions in the Philippines.

The AIMS Program, an initiative of SEAMEO RIHED, supports student mobility and fosters cooperation in higher education among Asian countries.

By connecting governments, universities, and students, the AIMS program provides a multilateral platform for academic exchange and collaboration, strengthening regional integration and community building.
