
The CLSU International Affairs Office (IAO), through the Hannah W. Tibbs Writers’ Studio at Central Luzon State University, in collaboration with the CLSU Society for the Advancement of Japanese Arts and Culture (SAJAC), is officially launching Dokusho: Explore Japan, One Page at a Time.

Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, Chief of the Mobility and Intercultural Exchange Unit and Lead Activity Proponent, officially opened the program and shared the purpose of the initiative, followed by an overview from Bea Bianca A. Bolante,President of CLSU-SAJAC.
Hon. Matsuda Shigehiro, First Secretary and Director of the Japan Information & Culture Center, Embassy of Japan (JICC), Embassy of Japan in the Philippines 在フィリピン日本国大使館, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, CLSU Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Director of the IAO, expressed their support for this month-long initiative aimed at promoting cultural appreciation and literary engagement through a curated selection of books from the READ JAPAN PROJECT, facilitated by JICC.
Also present at the launch is Yuki Kobayashi, a representative of the JICA – Japan International Cooperation Agency Philippines.
Faculty, students, and members of the university community are encouraged to visit the Hannah W. Tibbs Writers’ Studio to explore Japan’s rich literary heritage, with books available for room reading starting April 3 until April 30, 2025.
